Wafer Butterfly Valves
Wafer butterfly valves are compact, lightweight quarter-turn valves designed for efficient flow isolation and control in a wide range of piping systems. Installed between mating pipe flanges, their space-saving design minimizes installation requirements while providing reliable operation, low pressure drop, and economical flow control.
Available in a variety of body, disc, stem, and seat materials, wafer butterfly valves can be configured for water, air, oil, gas, steam, chemicals, and other compatible media. Manual lever, gear-operated, pneumatic, and electric actuation options allow the valve to be configured for both simple isolation and automated process control.
Key Benefits
Compact, Space-Saving Design: The wafer-style body installs between mating flanges and requires less space than many traditional valve designs.
Lightweight Construction: Reduced valve weight simplifies handling, installation, and maintenance while helping minimize the load placed on the piping system.
Fast Quarter-Turn Operation: Approximately 90° rotation provides quick and straightforward opening and closing for efficient flow isolation.
Reliable Shutoff: Resilient and metal-seated configurations provide dependable sealing performance when properly selected for the fluid, pressure, and temperature.
Low Pressure Drop: The streamlined disc design allows efficient flow through the valve when fully open, helping minimize unnecessary system pressure losses.
Versatile Flow Control: Butterfly valves can provide both on/off isolation and throttling service when the valve and actuator are properly selected for the application.
Easy Installation & Maintenance: The compact wafer configuration simplifies installation between flanges and provides convenient access for inspection, servicing, and replacement.
